Enjoyed your story, especially the pictures. How long did it take you to aclimate to a tropical Christmas? I have cousins in Australia, one sent me a picture of a melting Christmas candle on the dinner table. I lived for years in southern California where it's often hot and sunny on the 25th; I didn't like it and made my feelings known. . . and drew a few head shakes and eye rolls from those who never, ever dreamed or wanted a white Christmas.
