Excellent piece full of wisdom and insight. Your point about self-directed ageism hit home. As much as I rail against and write about ageism in society, at 79, I'm increasingly aware of my own negative and limiting thoughts about age-related things I should or shouldn't do. Thanks for this reminder not to sink into negative thinking.
