Glad you enjoyed the visit, Darren--thanks for the shoutout. Good pictures. It's easy to feel a little underwhelmed by the Camargue, especially if you go with expectations of wild white horses galloping along the water line and lawn ornament type pink flamingoes.
Depending on the season, the weather and what part of the vast area you explore, your experience will differ. That said, there is a sort of magic, admittedly understated at times, that you feel, or at least I've felt while driving through.
Unfortunately, the flamingoes always seem to appear in the most picturesque flocks when you're driving through and there's absolutely nowhere to park. The tourist bureau needs to have a chat with them.
