Good story, Marilyn. I joined Medium one month after you and I've been happy with everything about the platform including earnings--until September and early October when the Medium tap turned to a trickle and almost appeared to run out. My earnings dropped dramatically. Oddly enough readers, views, responses, e-mail subscriptions had all increased, just the earnings dropped.

Things have picked up a little since then, but I'll never take the money for granted again.

More importantly though, and I really believe this, Medium has been a fantastic platform for my writing. It's been incredibly motivating and I've met some great writers who I now consider friends. So I'd encourage anyone not to quit just because of earnings, there really are other benefits.
