Great story, I love all the details. You paint such a vivid word picture. Fifty years in the States and my mother was more British than when she left. Coronation china, Union Jack teacloths and monthly get togethers with the Britannia Club, women much like her, a;; nostalgic for a country they'd voluntarily left and were unlikely to ever return.
