(familiarization ) trips sponsored by convention bureaux, chambers of commerce and some travel agencies intended to offer journalists an overview of an establishment, city or country etc.

The idea is that the journalist will then write an article about it. As I mentioned, many mainstream publications will not accept sponsored travel pieces, but online sites may be less restrictive. Regardless, you need to show some evidence — published articles — to demonstrate your credibility.
