I enjoyed your story Mary Lou. I recently wrote about the difference between chronological age and cognitive age. I think you summed it up very well when you wrote "my age was no longer a number, but an abstraction."

At 78, I can feel very much my chronological age--mostly when I first get up in the morning--but most of the time I feel my cognitive age which, needless to say, is a much lower number.
