I have lived in cities and don't yearn for that sort of lifestyle again, but reading your story did give me a little twinge of envy. I love the way you describe the interaction with the woman on the bus--also envied your ability to hold a conversation in French. I'm fine for a brief exchange, but I quickly get lost. I want to think it's the Languedoc accents . . .
