BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID
I’m Trying Hard To Stay Upbeat & Optimistic
But it’s getting increasingly difficult
Yesterday, from my small French village, I tuned into Sky TV to watch Sir Richard Deerlove, the former head of the UK’s Secret Intelligence Service, warn that the return of Donald Trump to the White House could threaten Britain’s national security.
No!
Say it isn’t so. That sweet guy with the orange face and yellow hair? A political threat to Britain? I’m shocked.
Sorry to disillusion you, but Deerlove isn’t the only public figure to express a similar opinion — and not just about Britain’s national security. Forget what public figures believe though, the fact that Trump is a threat to pretty much anything— from climate change to abortion rights — isn’t exactly top secret.
And yet, look at this: “I have never wavered in my belief since 2016 that the world would be a safer place with Trump”
Who would say such a thing?
None other than Nigel Farage, the nattily dressed British TV pundit who obviously knows better than the former head of the British Secret Intelligence Service plus a whole of other people you’d think would be in the know, but maybe not.
