I started using my own pictures mostly because Upslash sometimes seems so generic and when I write about life in a French village, I can only find Paris images. I use an old iphone and my pictures are nothing special, but I feel they personalise my stories--or, if nothing else, demonstrate that photography is not one of my professional skills.
