Interesting story, Jill. I can imagine what a rewarding experience it was. When I lived in Washington, I taught a fiction writing class at a community college.

Much of the fiction was in fact autobiographical, many retirees in the class, and I could see that getting their stories out--even thinly disguised as fiction--was probably the reason most were there.

It's so exhilarating to help others discover the joys of self-expression through writing.
