Interesting story, Jolie, makes good sense too--exercise and healthy eating. However I've long suspected that there isn't one generic type of French woman. I'm here to tell you that many of the French women in France profonde--rural France--and not in big cities--are not all slim, by any standard.

All the things that make women, and men, overweight anywhere in the world, also apply to France. Driving rather than walking, processed and junk food (French supermarkets have plenty of both) do not lead to slimness no matter where you live

At 68, I started a new chapter in my life: I moved to France. Alone. It turned out to be quite the page-turner. Still is — even when age insists on a part.
