It might be better to wait . . . at least you’ll avoid the risk of doing what I did, renting unseen and finding out it’s not quite what you had in mind. Here in my area, or any area with ex-pats, it’s often much easier to rent from them. French landlords aren’t always keen to rent to foreigners and, when they do, need a dossier of information and often quite a heavy deposit. But don’t be discouraged, it’s not impossible.
