It's 16c/60f right now, fairly typical for this time of year. When the wind blows, which it often does in this area, it feels much colder.

From late November to late March, temperatures can get down to freezing 0c/32 overnight, even occasionally during the day. Winemakers don't breathe easily about the chance of frost until mid May.

We have half a dozen or so citrus trees growing, we wrap them if there's a chance of frost. Cilantro just isn't happy at any temperature no matter what I do.

At 68, I started a new chapter in my life: I moved to France. Alone. It turned out to be quite the page-turner. Still is — even when age insists on a part.
