Lovely story, Kathleen. I was also in PR for a major US healthcare firm--I chose to retire at 50 to free-lance full time. Difficult choice, but I never looked back. At 68, I started yet another life chapter and moved to France. I've never regretted that either.

You're right, letting go isn't always easy. As you put it, it's 'dying to an old way of life and rising to something new.'
