Oh what a poignant, beautiful story. It takes a lot to make me tear up, but I finished this with tears in my eyes. Don't be too hard on yourself, I know how painful memories of our thoughtless and selfish moments can be (I have plenty that hurt like a physical pain) but I suppose it's all part of being human.
