Thanks Jill. I feel the same way about the age of female protagonists. I wrote eight books for Harlequin and kept pushing up the age of my characters, still couldn't get it much past forty--Harlequin's rules. Better than a virginal twenty year old though--is there such a thing? But the Margaret book, as I call this thing I've been writing for godknows how long, is loosely based on my own teenage years. The interesting thing is how her insecurities at sixteen mirror my own at the other end of the age spectrum.
