This subject--chance meetings that seem statistically impossible (or unlikely, I'm no statistician) has long fascinated me, Maria. My first thought is always 'what an amazing coincidence,' then, but then, 'what else is at play here?'

Incidentally, I happened to click onto your story--didn't know you live in Adelaide. But I do have a cousin (English) who happens to work, or did work, she may be retired now) for the Adelaide government. . .
